Businesses whose website is part of how they trade. It takes the enquiries, the bookings or the payments, and it is the first thing a customer checks before they pick up the phone.

Right now it probably lives on shared hosting bought years ago, on a reseller account at an agency that has since changed hands, or with a large provider where a problem means a ticket number. Somebody updates the plugins when they remember. If it went down on a Saturday, you would hear about it on Monday, from a customer.

This plan is one WordPress website on one server. If you run several, or something heavier, we will size it properly rather than squeeze it in.

• Your own server in Sydney. Plenty of bandwidth, one website, and nobody else’s.
• Filtered before it reaches you. Traffic passes through a protective layer tuned to your site, with SSL included, so most of the rubbish never touches your server.
• We know where the gates go. Who can reach the back of your site, and from where, is set for how your business actually works. Security tuned to your customers, not to the whole internet.
• WordPress kept current. Core, themes and plugins updated for you, rather than left for whoever remembers.
• Backups on the 3-2-1 rule. Three copies, on two kinds of storage, one of them off-site and encrypted. One copy lives on a drive that spends most of its life unplugged, and those offline archives are kept for at least a year.
• Eyes on glass. Ey3 Sitrep, our own monitoring, checks the site around the clock and tracks the signals that move first when something is wrong. People watch what it sees, and you hear it from us.
• Tuned for speed. Set up by our systems engineers, because a secure site that takes six seconds to load is still losing you work.

The old arrangement was simple. Buy some space, install WordPress, leave it alone. It worked when finding a vulnerable site took effort. It does not work now, because scanning the whole internet for a known flaw is a background task. A site nobody is updating and nobody is watching is not unattended. It is available.

So we changed what we sell. Every site we manage is moving onto this platform, including clients who have been with us for years, because leaving a site to run itself is not something we will put our name to any more.

Across the fleet of sites we manage, uptime typically runs at 99.95% or better, and has for years. But a percentage describes an average year, not the afternoon that matters to you, so we would also rather tell you who is watching, how you will hear, and what coming back from a bad day looks like. The Australian Signals Directorate puts regular backups in its Essential Eight for the same reason: the bad day is a matter of when.
