Who this is for

Organisations of roughly twenty to three hundred people whose website does real work. It takes orders, feeds the CRM, holds the member list, or runs a process the office depends on. It was built by someone who has since moved on, or on a platform that has stopped being a sensible choice, or it has grown one plugin at a time until nobody dares update it.

You do not need a prettier site. You need one that works, connects to the systems behind it, and that the next person can pick up.

  • Custom plugins. For when the thing you need does not exist, or exists only as a plugin that does eleven other things and is maintained by nobody.
  • Integrations. Between the website and the systems behind it: the CRM, the accounting package, the booking or membership system, the database that actually runs the business. If those systems now include AI, that is a conversation we are very comfortable having.
  • Documentation and handover. Written documentation, the credentials in your hands, and a walkthrough. Handed over in a state someone else could maintain, because one day someone else will.

Why documentation is in the price

The most expensive website is the one only one person understands.

It cannot be updated safely, it cannot be moved, and every change is priced by the only developer who can make it.

Most of the platforms that become a liability were not bad choices at the time. They were decisions nobody wrote down. So every site we hand over comes with the decisions written down, the access in your name, and a walkthrough for the people who will run it.

Who does the work

Ey3 has been building for the web since 1996. Luke Elin, who leads it, has spent thirty-five years in databases, web development and cyber security, from BBC Weather in London to the Australian Red Cross web infrastructure behind the Boxing Day tsunami response. That teaches you what an undocumented system costs, usually on a Friday.

So every build is documented and handed over in a state someone else could maintain. Sometimes that someone else is us, three years later, and we are grateful to our earlier selves. And because the same team runs security audits, the site is hardened before it goes live, not after its first incident.

Common questions

Do you only build in WordPress?
WordPress is usually the right answer for organisations of this size, and it is the easiest to hand over, so that is where most of this work lands. When it is not the right tool, we say so.
Can you take over a site someone else built?
Yes. We look at it first, because a site that arrives with problems needs those fixed before anything is built on top of it. A security audit is often the right first step, and we will tell you if it is not necessary.
Will we be able to edit it ourselves?
Yes. That is what the handover is for. You get documentation written for the people who will use it, a walkthrough, and the credentials. If you would rather we did it, that is what maintenance is for.
How much does a website cost?
